english bio -->Pablo Garrido lleva desde 1994 facturando algunos de los sonidos más inquietantes personales y curiosos del sur de España. Su andadura como Naïfloop comenzó a finales de 1998 cuando empieza grabar sus trabajos electrónicos en solitario y de forma paralela al trabajo que realizaba en otros bandas de los que forma o ha formado parte como Tom Cary, Icono, Eugene o The Heavenly Corporation.
Multi-instrumentista heterodoxo, reconoce que “suelo trastear como los niños cualquier tipo de instrumento hasta que suene de mi agrado. No puedo decir que toque ningún instrumento de una manera muy usual. Lo que normalmente supone una desventaja para tocar en una banda yo lo convertí en una ventaja para crear mi mundo personal”. Su técnica de manejo del software digital esta basada casi exclusivamente en editar y retocar digitalmente lo que graba en su viejo estudio repleto de cachivaches analógicos y micros viejos. Su sonido oscila entre el pop electrónico, el dub, los sonidos del glitch core y el ambient abstracto. Todo pasado por su particular tamiz de baja fidelidad y combinado con las posibilidades del software digital. Nombres como Brian Eno, Lee Scratch Perry, Brian Wilson, Steve Albini, Todd Rudgreen, Martin Rev o Captain Beefheart vienen a la cabeza al escuchar su música y son influencias reconocibles en su sonido, aunque el uso de software digital y lo aleatorio de sus ritmos y melodías trasladan su música a un lugar definitivamente nuevo
De su trayectoria artística caben destaca su primer proyecto fundado en 1995 de nombre Icono, y su actual banda Tom Cary. Icono fue la jovencísima banda de post-rock que atrajo la atención del manager de los belgas Deus y AR de Island Records Filip Eyckmans, tras ganar el concurso autonómico Málaga Crearock 1999. El grupo fue seleccionado por la Bienal internacional de arte contemporáneo celebrada en Turín, Big Torino 2000, donde coincidió entre otros artistas con los canadienses Godspeed you black empeoror!...
En 2005, formó junto a Fran Verdugo, Javi Serrano y Miguel Sánchez la banda Tom Cary, grupo en el que actualmente compone, canta y toca la batería y el minimoog... Tom Cary están preparando la edición de su primer álbum.
Durante 2002 y 2003 también formó parte como guitarrista y cantante de la banda malagueña Eugene.
Con sus diferentes bandas ha sido 1º premio en el Proyecto Demo 2006, organizado por el Festival internacional de Benicassim Radio 3 y Mtv, 1º premio del concurso nacional Lagarto Rock 2006, Premio Gibson en el Villa de Madrid 2006, y finalista europeo en electrónica en Villa de Bilbao 2002. También ha sido 1º premio en el concurso autonómico Malága Crearock dos años en 1999 y 2006. Ha participado en los principales festivales nacionales como FIB Benicassim, Esparrago Rock o AV Festival y ha actuado junto artistas como Stereolab, Tom Verlaine, Arto Lindasay, Rioyi Ikeda o Pixies.

bio en castellano -->Pablo Garrido is performing since 1994 some of the most curious, hair-rising and personal sounds from the south of Spain. He started as Naïfloop in 1998 with his first electronic releases both on his own and also together with bands like Tom Cary, Icono, Eugene or the Heavenly Corporation.
This heterodox multi-instrument player admits: "I normally finger like a child any kind of instrument until I get a good sound from it. You cannot say I play any instrument in the usual way, which would supposed to be a disadvantage to play with a band. I converted this into an advantage to create my own personal world". His skill on digital software is based on editing and manipulating sounds recorded on his old studio, full of analogic junks and old microphones. His sound goes between electronic pop, dub, glitch core sounds and abstract ambient. All of these through his particular sleeve of low fidelity and combined with all the possibilities of music software. Names like Brian Eno, Lee Scratch Perry, Brian Wilson, Steve Albini, Todd Rudgreen, Martin Rev o Captain Beefheart comes to head when we hear his music and are remarkable influences on his sound. Nevertheless, the use of digital technology and the randomized melodies and rhythms take his music definetely to a new place.
We can highlight two main issues on his artistic career: His first project Icono (1995), and his current band, Tom Cary. Icono was the young post-rock band which even attracted the attention of the manager of Deus and AR of Island Records, Filip Eyckmans, after wining the contest Crearock in M‡laga in 1999. The band was also selected by the International biennial Contemporary art meeting in Torino (Big Torino 2000), where they shared stage, amongst others, with Godspeed you black emperor!...
In 2005, together with Fran Verdugo, Javi Serrano and Miguel S‡nchez he created the band Tom Cary, where he now act as composer, singer, drummer and also playing the minimoog... Tom Cary is now preparing the edition of their first album.
During 2002 and 2003 also was guitar player and singer of the band Eugene from Málaga.
